Officials Development

As development opportunities for umpires and markers arise, they will be listed here, along with links to umpire / marker resources.

Umpire / Marker Clinic

An Umpire / Marker Clinic and Officials clinic will be held on
Sunday, May 25th at 1pm at Norwood LBC.

This clinic is open to all who want to learn more about the rules of the game, as well as those wanting to learn how to be a Marker.  It is recommended that all participants in the singles league attend.

Existing Umpires & Markers should attend, as events
will be assigned at this meeting.

Please contact Betty Van Walleghem at bbvanwall@gmail.com to confirm your attendance.

Marking at Singles Events

There are times when requests will be made for "markers" to assist at singles events and tournaments.  Markers do not just centre the jack -- there is much more to it!

The image below is taken from Bowls Canada's rule book and outlines the role of the marker.  If you agree to be a marker, be sure to know all your duties! And be sure to attend the Umpire /Marker Clinic noted above!
