Officials Development
As development opportunities for umpires and markers arise, they will be listed here, along with links to umpire / marker resources.
Umpire & Measuring Clinic
Sunday May 31st at 1 pm at Norwood LBC
This clinic is free of charge and all bowlers are welcome and encouraged to attend, as it's a great learning experience!
Rules and measurement skills will be reviewed.
This is of great value to new bowlers and a good refresher course for others, as some aspects of being a marker has changed.
Please pre-register with Betty VW at bbvanwall@gmail.com before May 24th so we ensure there are enough refreshments for all!

Marking at Singles Events
There are times when requests will be made for "markers" to assist at singles events and tournaments. Markers do not just centre the jack -- there is much more to it!
The image below is taken from Bowls Canada's rule book and outlines the role of the marker. If you agree to be a marker, be sure to know all your duties! If in doubt, ask an umpire!

Becoming an Umpire
Bowls Canada has a National Officiating Committee with the goal of having at least one qualified umpire per club.
Find out more about qualifying or re-certifying as an umpire at Bowls Canada's website here.
